Coronavirus Update For Patients

MAY 2020

Coronavirus Update

“Changing Lives…One Day At A Time” is who Esthetic Family Dentistry is and we have outstanding news!  We are re-opening May 4 with a slightly different schedule and look, but with the same great people taking the very best care of you!  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this crazy time as we realize some of you have been rescheduled several times.

Our Team looks forward to seeing you soon!  Rest assured that we are taking all precautions for the health of our patients and staff.  Long before the Coronavirus outbreak, our normal office protocols called for the following disinfecting procedures:

Routine disinfecting of all exam/surgery rooms with a hospital-grade disinfectant between each patient.  This includes disinfecting chairs, all surfaces, door and cabinet handles and then placing a new paper covering on chairs and disposable barriers on common contact surfaces.  We use heat and pressure sterilizers on all dental instruments.

Long sleeves, gloves, safety glasses, masks, and close-toed shoes have always been a part of our staffs fashionwear.

Routine handwashing between patients and placement and liberal use of hand sanitizer throughout the day.  This hand sanitizer is also available for patient’s use while in the clinic.

Daily disinfection of the reception room chairs, check-in and check-out counters, and door handles.

In addition to what we have already been doing we are disinfecting common areas more frequently, we are installing True HEPA air filters and purifiers that remove 99.97% of particles and contaminants at 0.3 microns, high-speed evacuation and suction, rubber dams, and Isolite systems to reduce aerosol production.

All staff members are self-monitoring and checking their temperatures twice-a-day regardless of symptoms.  Anyone who is running a fever or contagious is required to stay at home and bring a note in from their Provider that they have been treated and are not contagious.

The Administrative staff is wearing scrubs and face shields and will be using Clorox wipes on credit cards and machines.  There are also limited display items in operatories and throughout the office and only items that can be easily disinfected.

The office flow for our patient family will look different as well during these first few weeks.  During this transitional period of re-opening our office and for your safety, our preferred waiting room will be your personal vehicle.  You will call us upon arrival at 719-528-5577.  Our office will call you when we are ready to meet you outside our front door.  There you will be triaged, including taking your temperature with a no-touch thermometer, then taken straight back to your treatment room.

Only patients with scheduled appointments are permitted in the office unless a minor child/senior is being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Companions will NOT be allowed in the operatory area.  They can assist the patient to the front door then will be asked to wait in the common areas in the Atrium.  We will be only using every other operatory to reduce airborne pathogens.

As an additional precaution, we have suspended handshaking as we greet you.  We are also pre-screening patients as they call in to schedule an appointment and will re-schedule any patient that comes to our office with symptoms.

We know this is a lot of information, but feel it is important to communicate with you so you know what to expect when you come into our office.  Hopefully we will be back to our “new normal” soon.

Together we will keep each other safe!  Looking forward to seeing you soon!
